This Premier spruce gives you the pleasure of a tall Christmas tree while keeping its widest branches to approximately 56cm. The slender silhouette is useful in an alcove or between pieces of furniture where a broad tree would be awkward. Its snowy foliage adds texture, so the display can still feel generous without occupying a large patch of floor.

Sold as a 6.5ft tree, it measures approximately 2m high. Leave a little more space above it for a topper and check the intended position before assembly. A narrow tree can be a particularly good fit beside a window, where its height is visible from across the room without obscuring as much of the view.

570 tips to open out

The foliage is formed from 570 PVC tips with a snow-flocked finish. A mix of white highlights and green gives the outline a wintery appearance, and the hinged branches help with opening the tree for display. The folding metal stand is supplied as part of the set.

Several owners say that shaping the branches makes a real difference to the result. Give the tips time and attention, spreading them in different directions to fill the outline. One buyer allowed around half an hour for this stage. It is a useful reminder to put the tree up before you start unwrapping all the decorations.

Let the flocking set the mood

The tree is unlit, leaving the lighting entirely up to you. A warm glow would bring out the cosy side of the snowy foliage, while clear or cool-white lights could make it feel more crisp and wintry. Feed a little of the light string towards the centre as well as around the outer branches to add depth.
