Cream and gold bring a softer kind of sparkle to Christmas greenery. This BestArtificial garland combines pale flowers, decorative berries, pine cones and baubles with pine and spruce foliage, creating a dressed display that feels warm without relying on bright red. It is particularly attractive beside cream stockings, warm wood or a mirror with a gold-toned frame.

This is the 180cm, or six-foot, version. The foliage has 160 tips, which can be opened out to give the decorations breathing space and create a fuller outline. A string of 50 warm white battery lights is included separately. The lights are not already fitted into the branches: you arrange and attach them yourself, so allow a little extra time when setting up the display.

Light it to suit your room

Having a separate light string lets you decide where the glow should sit. You might tuck the wire well inside the greenery for small points of light between the flowers, or place more of the LEDs towards the front when the garland is viewed from across a room. Spread them before adding your final twists and curves so one section does not end up much brighter than another.

Decide where the battery box will rest before securing the garland. Behind an ornament can be a convenient spot, provided the controls remain easy to reach and the box is properly supported. The battery arrangement also means you are not tied to a nearby wall socket, which can be helpful on an internal staircase or a shelf away from the usual Christmas tree position.

A shorter garland with plenty of detail

At 180cm, it works well where a longer nine-foot garland would leave too much hanging down. Measure the mantel or banister section, then allow for any curves and trailing ends. The full length is the decorating material available; a deep swag or a generous drop at each side reduces the horizontal area you can cover.

Customers appreciate the finished fullness after the foliage has been opened and the lights have been added. Start by loosening the branches around the larger flowers, then turn the cones and baubles towards the main viewing side. The cream details should remain visible rather than disappearing beneath the green tips. A few minutes spent on this makes the different textures much easier to enjoy.

Use it indoors as a complete seasonal decoration, or repeat its cream and gold colours in a nearby wreath. There is no need to add lots of extra ornaments. When storing it, keep the light wire from tangling around the flower heads and give the larger decorations enough space that they are not flattened beneath heavier Christmas accessories.
