Dawsons Living mini Christmas trees with colour-changing lights (pair, 2ft)

Description

Two little trees can give a room a lovely sense of balance. Place this Dawsons Living pair at opposite ends of a sideboard, use one on each bedside table or spread the Christmas glow between two rooms. Each tree stands about 60cm tall and has a weighted hessian-wrapped base, so the pair looks finished even before you add any decorations.

The green foliage keeps the look traditional, while colour-select lights give you a choice of mood. You can enjoy warm white one evening and a more playful multicoloured display the next.

Choose the lighting to suit the room

The LEDs offer warm white and multicoloured settings at the touch of a button. There are also steady, flashing, pulsing and alternating modes, allowing you to choose a quiet glow for a bedroom or something livelier for a family space. Each tree runs independently, which is useful if you want to display them in different places.

Allow three AA batteries for each tree, six in total; batteries are not supplied. Because there is no mains lead to reach a socket, you have more freedom to use a shelf or console table. Keep the battery controls accessible when you arrange the branches and any extra ornaments.

Small trees that still have presence

At roughly two feet high, these are substantial tabletop decorations rather than tiny model trees. The stated dimensions are approximately 35cm deep by 40cm wide by 60cm high, so check the available depth of a narrow ledge before deciding where they will go.

The PVC needles need opening out after their journey in the box. Spread the branches gradually, then step back and adjust the silhouette. The weighted bases help the trees settle into place, while the hessian finish gives them a relaxed look that sits well with wooden furniture and natural Christmas decorations.

Enjoy them as a pair or separately

Customers particularly enjoy the flexibility of the lights. A buyer of the green trees was pleasantly surprised by the choice between warm white and multicoloured settings, and found them well suited to bedside decorating. The foliage is simple, so a handful of small baubles can add a little extra interest if you prefer a dressed tree.

For a matching display, repeat the same ribbon or ornament on both trees. Alternatively, let each have its own character: perhaps warm white and wooden stars in the hallway, with coloured lights and bright baubles in the kitchen. The green version is supplied here; other finishes are also available.

After the festivities, remove the batteries and any decorations you have added. Pack each tree so its light wires and branch tips are protected. Having a ready-made pair to bring out again is especially handy when you want the whole house to feel festive without putting up several full-sized trees.
