Description

A small tree can still have plenty of character. The Cairngorm pine has an irregular, gently spreading outline, softly coloured needles and little pinecones nestled among the branches. Its warm white lights bring out those details after dusk, making it a lovely welcome beside a front door or in a sheltered entrance.

This is the 3ft version, approximately 90cm high and 73cm across, supplied as one tree in a weighted black pot. It has a surprisingly generous spread for its height: allow space for the lower branches rather than treating it as a narrow pencil tree.

Soft needles and a natural outline

The foliage combines polyethylene and PVC, with moulded branch tips and subtle changes in green tone. There are 94 tips, arranged to leave some breathing room between the branches. That open structure gives small ornaments somewhere to hang and lets the pinecones remain visible.

Customers who bought the 3ft tree particularly like its realistic appearance and soft needles. Several describe it as convincing even before decorations are added. The branches can be adjusted to give a balanced outline, so you can keep one side slightly flatter if it is sitting near a wall.

A gentle glow for the doorstep

Warm white LEDs are already woven through the foliage, saving you the fiddly job of wrapping a small tree with a separate string. The tree is mains powered, so plan the cable route and power connection before choosing its position. Follow the supplied instructions for protecting the electrical connections outdoors.

The effect is a gentle scattering of light rather than a densely illuminated cone. A customer with the 3ft version found the lighting simple to use, while another would have preferred more lights. It works particularly well with a restrained selection of small baubles that leaves the needles and warm points of light on show.

Finish it lightly

A lightweight bow makes a good finishing touch at the top. One owner found the upper branch too flexible for several star toppers, so keep heavier decorations lower down where the branches offer more support. You can also enjoy it exactly as it arrives, with the pinecones providing a quiet woodland detail.

The weighted pot gives the tree a useful foundation, but place it on level ground and secure it appropriately for the position. An ornamental outer planter can change the look without hiding the foliage; any additional planter or ornaments are separate. A 4ft version is also available if you would like the same character on a larger scale.
