Description

Long, softly falling Norfolk pine fronds give this Alupssuc garland a relaxed woodland look. The foliage hangs differently from a traditional bottle-brush Christmas garland, with individual sprays that can spill over a mantel edge or curve down the side of a console. Left undecorated, it brings plenty of seasonal greenery to a room without committing you to a particular Christmas colour scheme.

This is the single 270cm version, approximately nine feet long. It is made with soft, real-touch PE foliage and has a flexible structure with loops at the ends. The garland is unlit, so the focus is on the green fronds and their natural-looking movement. You can add your own small lights, ribbon or ornaments if you prefer a more dressed finish.

Let the fronds fall naturally

Across a mantel, arrange the main length securely and allow the finer branches to fall at different levels over the front. A perfectly symmetrical shape is not essential; a slightly longer drop at one side can look particularly attractive beside a mirror or a tall candlestick. Keep the foliage clear of any active fireplace or other heat source beneath the display.

One customer found the nine-foot length useful across a 180cm television console, leaving room for overhanging ends. That gives a helpful sense of the possible proportions, although your own drape will depend on the furniture and the curves you create. Measure both the horizontal span and the amount you want hanging down before deciding where the support points should go.

Soft foliage with a substantial feel

Customers often enjoy the softness and the varied green appearance, describing a more rubber-like feel than crisp, papery artificial needles. The garland weighs around 1.47kg, so it needs reliable support even though the fronds look delicate. Use the end loops as attachment points where appropriate and add support along the length if the display requires it.

Open out the sprays after unpacking and turn them to cover the central structure. A blunt-looking end can usually be made less noticeable by directing nearby foliage over it or placing that end behind an ornament. Step back from the display while shaping it: the best branch positions are the ones that look balanced from the room, not necessarily from directly above the shelf.

The greenery is suitable for indoor and outdoor decorating. Its plain finish pairs well with brass, warm white lights or a simple velvet ribbon, but it can also remain completely green. Other lengths and pack options are available for larger projects. When packing it away, avoid crushing the hanging sprays into a tight bundle; a loose curve helps preserve the flowing character for the next season.
