Description

A scattering of gold flowers can make even a familiar set of Christmas decorations feel a little more festive. These poinsettias have layered pointed petals and a bright glitter finish, with enough detail to stand out among green branches. Their manageable size makes them useful as repeated accents instead of one oversized floral feature.

The pack contains twelve flower heads, twelve separate stems and twelve small metal clips. Each bloom is approximately 13cm across. You can choose the stem or clip according to the decoration you are working on, whether that is a tree, a wreath or a length of plain garland.

One flower, two ways to place it

Use a stem when you want the flower to sit slightly forward of the surrounding greenery. A clip is useful where the bloom needs to stay close to a branch or ribbon. The clips are approximately 2.5cm long, so look for a suitable slender section to grip and check the attachment before letting go.

Fit the fixing to the flower first, then position it in the display. Customers generally find the flowers easy to assemble, although feedback includes occasional missing or weak clips. It is sensible to check the contents before starting a project, particularly if you plan to attach every flower in the same way.

Warm gold through the room

These flowers work well alongside cream ribbon, natural cones and deep red ornaments. Space them through the tree at varying heights, leaving enough greenery around each head for its shape to remain visible. A customer using the gold version found the size particularly suitable for a six-foot tree, while another appreciated the shiny material and supplied stems.

You could also reserve three or four for a matching wreath, or clip one onto the ribbon around a special present. Prepare for a sparkly finish

The petals combine fabric and plastic with glitter powder. Loose glitter can fall quite readily during unpacking and arranging, as several customers point out. Open the pack over a tray or paper, separate the flowers gently and shape the petals before carrying them to their final position.

An indoor display is the simplest choice for keeping the flowers clean and dry. They need no water and contain no lights. Other colours are available in the same design, while this set is gold. At the end of the season, remove the fixings carefully and store the blooms with room around the petals, so they are not flattened beneath heavier ornaments.
