Five metres of greenery for a longer boundary

A long stretch of bare fencing can make a garden feel rather exposed. This Hobubu ivy screen gives you five metres of green covering in one roll, making it a useful choice for a patio edge, a run of railings or a wall behind a row of pots. At 1m high, it can dress the part of the boundary you see most from a seated position.

The pointed leaves have visible veining and a slightly varied surface that catches the light. They sit on a flexible plastic mesh, giving the screen a softer outline than plain fencing. Fifty green nylon ties are included, so you have a set of fixings ready to use with a suitable existing support.

Plan the run before fastening it

Open the roll and check the full length against the area you want to cover. The backing can be cut to fit, and the connected sections offer some flexibility when arranging the shape. Work out where posts, corners and joins will fall before trimming, particularly if you want a neat finish at both ends.

A customer who used the screen along a patio wall liked its more textured appearance and the way it disguised the surface. They also found that some short-edge connectors needed attention, so it is worth checking the joins before fixing the whole length permanently. Suitable support along the edges will help the roll sit more evenly.

Green coverage with spaces between the leaves

Several customers are pleased with the screening effect. One found it easy to put up and reported that no leaves came away during fitting. Another used it to refresh an old fence and liked both the appearance and the extra privacy. The customer photograph shows a garden installation with potted plants in front, where the artificial greenery becomes part of the background.

The amount of concealment depends on what is behind the screen. A customer who wanted a denser barrier added separate screening mesh, while another was happy using the foliage against a wall despite being able to see through it. Expect a leafy covering with small gaps, rather than an opaque sheet. A solid fence will give a different result from open railings.

Simple care for an established green backdrop

The foliage has UV protection and a weather-resistant finish. It needs no watering, feeding or pruning, and ordinary dust or garden grime can be rinsed away with water. Check the leaves and their attachments when unpacking, then secure the backing with fixings appropriate to your own fence or frame.

Before choosing the position, allow for the roughly 1.54kg weight and the length of the roll. Working steadily from one end will make it easier to keep the top edge level and conceal the ties behind the leaves. A shorter three-metre option is also available, but this longer version is handy when you want a continuous green feature across a broader garden space.
