Description

Turn a plain surface into a green feature

A gate or boundary wall does not always need a major makeover to feel more welcoming. This Camiraft artificial leaf screen adds a layer of green texture to an existing surface, breaking up bare metal, timber or masonry without using any ground space. The leaves have a softly ribbed finish, giving the covering a little detail when it catches the light.

One roll is supplied, measuring 3m wide and 1m high. That gives you three square metres to work with before trimming or overlapping. The flexible plastic mesh is designed for both indoor decoration and outdoor screening, so it can dress a garden boundary or create a green backdrop for a display inside.

Change the layout to fit the job

The screen is made from connected sections that can be removed or rearranged. You can keep the long rectangular shape for a run of railings, or plan a different outline when the space calls for it. The backing also bends and can be trimmed, which is useful when working around posts or finishing a shorter stretch.

For a larger wall, several rolls can be placed alongside or above one another. A customer used four rolls to make a display approximately 6m long and 2m high, securing it with cable clips. They were particularly pleased with the finished appearance. Their project shows how this smaller, manageable roll can become part of a much broader green surface.

Leafy coverage on an existing support

The customer photograph shows the screening attached to a metal gate. You can still see light and the structure behind the leaves, which gives a useful sense of the finish. It softens the outline and interrupts the view, rather than turning open bars into an opaque panel.

Against a solid wall, the background will be less noticeable because the wall already blocks the view. On railings or mesh fencing, consider both the privacy you need and how the covering looks from the opposite side. The screen needs a sound support and appropriate fixings; it is a decorative layer, not a freestanding fence.

Choose the position with wind in mind

Several customers are happy with the quality and the change the screen makes to their space. A less satisfied buyer reported leaves coming away during strong winds, leaving thin patches. A sheltered position and secure fastening are sensible choices, particularly where the screen sits above a fence or across an open gate.

The foliage has UV protection and needs no watering or pruning. Give the leaves a gentle adjustment after unrolling, and check their attachments before fixing the backing permanently. Dust and everyday grime can be cleaned away as needed. Other lengths are available for smaller projects, but this three-metre roll offers a useful starting point for a gate, fence section or bare garden wall.
