Oairse artificial Boston fern in a ribbed black ceramic pot (32cm)

Description

A black ceramic pot gives this little fern a more considered finish than a plain plastic base. Oairse’s artificial Boston fern combines fine green fronds with a rounded, ribbed container and decorative stones around the stems. It is a compact arrangement for a shelf, desk or side table where the pot will be as visible as the plant.

Fine fronds above a textured base

The fern has upright inner fronds and lower leaves opening towards the sides, creating a small layered crown. Its fine leaflets add detail without the broad, solid shape of a tropical houseplant. The selected version comes in the black ceramic pot shown here; other finishes are available separately.

The overall height is approximately 32cm when arranged, with a pot around 12cm across and 10cm high. The final height and spread will vary with the angle of the fronds. It is best treated as a small tabletop plant, rather than a large fern intended to fill a wide empty corner.

Let the pot be part of the display

The ribbed surface gives the black container a little movement of its own, catching light along the raised lines. It looks particularly good against pale furniture or beside a smooth ceramic accessory. The stones at the base provide a finished top, so the arrangement can be displayed without adding potting material or an outer cover.

Try it beside a short stack of books or a framed photograph, leaving enough space to see the pot’s rounded shape. A shelf at ordinary viewing height will show both the foliage and the ceramic finish. On a very high cabinet, much of the detail in the container would be lost.

A little green texture for an indoor room

The plant is intended for indoor decoration and does not need a bright growing position. It can add a leafy note to a hallway, an office or a bathroom shelf away from splashes. The combination of green leaves and black ceramic works with both modern furniture and more rustic finishes.

The small scale is worth checking against your intended spot. A compact fern can look attractive on its own in a narrow space, but on a broad table it may need to sit with other objects to feel balanced. Measure the area around it as well as the height available above.

Keep the leaf detail clear

Gently separate the fronds after unpacking, supporting the stems rather than pulling the tiny leaflets. Allow them to settle before making further adjustments. Dust with a soft brush and wipe the ceramic pot as needed. There is no watering, misting or feeding to organise, so the arrangement can stay looking leafy without the humidity demands of a living fern.
