Assorted woodland Christmas picks with berries and pinecones (12 pieces, 12–17cm)

Description

Part of the charm of a woodland Christmas is that every little detail can be different. This assortment brings together twelve small picks in twelve designs, mixing red berries, pinecones and evergreen-style foliage. Some are fuller and leafy, while others let the berries or cones take the lead, so the finished display feels collected rather than rigidly matched.

The picks measure approximately 12–17cm long. Their compact size makes them particularly useful for the awkward little spaces where a hanging bauble will not sit neatly. They can brighten the front of a dense branch, finish a bow or bring a small touch of Christmas to a shelf arrangement.

Enjoy the variety

Lay out the whole pack before you start decorating. You might choose the berry-heavy pieces for darker areas of the tree, then use the greener stems where you want to soften a ribbon or ornament cluster. Different designs can sit together without looking too uniform, especially alongside natural textures such as twine and wood.

The stems are made from paper-covered iron wire, with foam berries, polyester holly leaves and natural pinecones among the decorative elements. They can be gently bent into position. Support the base of each pick as you arrange it, so the smaller details are not strained while you find the right angle.

Useful well beyond the tree

Customers have used the assortment to fill dark patches in a Christmas tree, make wreaths and centrepieces, and gather little displays in a vase. Several appreciate having a range of designs rather than twelve identical pieces. One buyer found them smaller than expected but still effective at making the tree look fuller, so the 12–17cm size is worth keeping in mind.

They are also lovely for finishing a wrapped present. Tie a pick into your own ribbon on the outside of the parcel and the gift becomes a decoration in its own right. The customer photographs show this kind of creative use; ribbons, presents and other display accessories are separate from the twelve picks.

Small finishing touches to bring out each year

These pieces are best treated as dry decorations. There is no need for water, and a gentle dusting is a simpler way to keep the foliage tidy than soaking the mixed materials. Keep any loose decorative particles away from food if the picks are part of a dining-table display.

For storage, a shallow divided box helps keep the different shapes visible and prevents the cones from pressing into the berries. You can then choose a fresh combination next Christmas, perhaps moving the same assortment from the tree to a wreath or a cluster of small vases. The appeal is in those varied, individual details.
