Once you are happy with the green shape, tuck the berry stems between the branches. Keeping some berries lower and others a little higher avoids a rigid line of red across the top. You can gather more colour on the side that will face into the room, while leaving the back mostly green if it will sit against a wall.

A useful vase included

The cream ceramic container has a textured finish and a relatively narrow neck. That opening helps hold the many stems together, while the pale colour makes a pleasant contrast with the dark greenery and bright berries.

It would be a lovely addition to a mantelpiece, a console near the front door or a corner of the dining room. On a table, arrange the branches to suit the available space and leave the most spreading sprays clear of plates and glasses. The finished dimensions depend on how you position the flexible stems.
