Description

Cedar-style sprays give this MACTING garland a softer outline than a traditional stiff-needled Christmas decoration. The green foliage can fall over a shelf edge or curve gently around a doorway, creating a woodland feel without snow, glitter or bright baubles. It is a good starting point for a simple seasonal room where the shape of the greenery is the main attraction.

This is one 270cm garland, made with soft PE foliage and 200 branch tips. It is supplied unlit and weighs approximately 1.42kg. The foliage material is suitable for indoor and outdoor decorating, so the same style can be used on a mantelpiece or in a sheltered entrance area. Any lights or extra ornaments would be separate additions.

Keep the greenery loose and flowing

Across a mantel, secure the main structure and allow the finer sprays to fall forwards at different lengths. A few branches extending beyond the main line can make the whole arrangement feel less formal. You could leave it completely green, add a narrow velvet ribbon or weave through a fine warm white light string for a little evening atmosphere.

On a table, the plain foliage works well as a background to ceramic ornaments or battery candles. Leave gaps for serving dishes rather than filling every part of the centre line. If the garland is being used where people sit close to it, arrange the longer sprays so they do not trail into place settings or catch on sleeves as dishes are passed around.

Give the packed foliage time to relax

Open the garland out after unpacking and allow around a day for the compressed sprays to relax before making the final adjustments. Then separate the tips gently, turning some towards the room and others to the side. This helps show the cedar texture and disguises the central structure without forcing the greenery into an overly regular shape.

Customers often enjoy the soft feel and natural-looking colour. Views on density vary, and some people prefer layering garlands for a broader, heavier display. This selection contains one length, so a very deep, cascading arrangement may need additional greenery. Think about how much of the surface you want to cover as well as the route the garland needs to follow.
