Natural coconut fibre gives this Christow areca palm a particularly appealing detail around the stems. Different leaves, a more natural outline

The polyurethane leaves vary in size, length and shade. That variation helps the canopy look less uniform, especially once the fronds have been separated and arranged. The 120cm tree is approximately 80cm across when opened, although the final spread depends on how you position the foliage.

Twelve fronds give you a clearly defined, open palm shape. Some owners of this size describe it as full and realistic; another would have liked more leaves for a denser effect. Give the existing foliage room to show its shape rather than expecting a solid mass of green. A plain wall or a quiet corner will show the individual fronds to their best advantage.

A thoughtful finish at the base

Indoors, simply choose the position that looks best. There is no need to provide sunlight, water or fertiliser, and no pruning is required to keep the tree at this height.
