Amazon Basics artificial palm tree with bendable fronds (120cm)

Description

For a room that needs a simple green finishing touch, this Amazon Basics palm keeps things straightforward. Its long leaves rise from slender stems in a compact black pot, creating a clean, upright shape that can be softened by bending the fronds. At just under 120cm tall, it fits easily into everyday spaces without becoming the dominant feature.

An uncomplicated indoor palm

The foliage combines polyester and plastic, with green tones and narrow leaf divisions that give it the familiar appearance of a palm. There is enough detail to add interest beside a plain wall, while the simple black planter works with a wide range of furniture. It is the sort of piece that can move between rooms as your decorating changes.

The height is 119.8cm, and the foliage is approximately 70cm wide when opened. Allow for that upper spread when choosing a position. The pot takes up far less space than the leaves, so it is easy to underestimate how much room the finished palm needs beside a chair or doorway.

Bend the stems for a softer outline

Wire inside the stems lets you alter the position of the leaves. Separate the foliage first, then work around the plant so the fronds are not all facing the same direction. A few outward curves will make the shape feel less rigid, while leaving some stems upright helps preserve its height.

Stand back between adjustments. A palm can look quite different from the other side of a room than it does while you are holding a leaf. This one is particularly useful as a background accent, where the overall shape and colour matter more than close inspection of each surface. Several owners describe it as realistic in a room, while others point out that its artificial construction is more obvious close up.

Useful where real plants struggle

This palm is for indoor use only. It can brighten a dim living-room corner or an office position away from the window, without asking you to compromise on where it looks best. Customers have enjoyed the way it fills an empty space, and some have placed the black base inside a larger decorative pot to coordinate with their furniture.

You can do the same, but an extra pot is optional rather than essential. Make sure any outer container supports the original base and does not press against the stems. Care is simple: use a damp or dry cloth to remove dust, and keep the leaves away from strong heat. There is no watering, feeding or pruning involved. The package contains one artificial palm and its black plastic planter.
