For greenery with a slightly broader, softer leaf than traditional boxwood, this pair of Christow laurel topiary balls is a lovely option. The rounded form still gives an entrance a tidy finish, but the layered leaves add a more relaxed texture. They look especially at home against timber cladding, pale walls and natural stone, where the different greens have room to stand out.

Fresh colour with some depth

Each ball carries 306 artificial leaves in a mixture of light and dark green. That balance matters: a single very dark shade can look heavy, while an overly bright green can appear rather harsh. The balls measure 28cm across, making them a manageable size for smaller porches and patio displays. They are supplied as a matching pair and contain foliage only, with no flowers or lights. Two ways to display the pair

Powder-coated steel triple chains and hooks are included, with an overall hanging drop of approximately 40cm. Hang the balls from suitable brackets to frame a doorway, repeat them along a fence or add greenery beneath a covered terrace. The compact drop is useful where you want a decorative feature without having it hang too low.

If you prefer a grounded display, remove the chains and settle the spheres into your own planters. The customer photographs show them used this way on a deck, where tall grey containers make the green foliage feel particularly fresh. Choose a stable arrangement and secure both ball and pot appropriately for the location.

Putting the shape together

Each sphere comes in two halves that connect using poppers. Assembly can be a little fiddly, as buyers have noted, so it helps to work patiently around the join and check that the edges line up before pressing each fastening into place. Once joined, gently arrange the leaves to create an even outline. There is no ongoing trimming needed to preserve that shape.

Low-maintenance greenery for everyday spaces

The polyethylene foliage is water resistant and has UV protection for outdoor use. It also works indoors, particularly in a bright hallway or conservatory where you want a green accent without managing a living plant. An occasional light clean will remove settled dust.
