Vinclus dense artificial ivy screening roll (3m x 1m)

Description

One continuous roll for a fuller green covering

For a plain wall or a run of railings, a continuous screen can make the planning pleasantly simple. This Vinclus artificial ivy arrives as a single roll measuring 3m long and 1m high, so there are no separate panels to link together before you begin. The design includes 1,200 leaves for a fuller green finish.

Pointed leaves with visible veining give the screen its ivy effect. The green foliage works as a backdrop for colourful pots or as a softer surface behind a seating area. Other lengths are available if a shorter or longer roll would suit your project better.

Covering a wall, gate or fence

A customer with the 3m version used it over a plain brick wall and liked the result enough to buy another. Another fitted it to both sides of a side gate and was pleased with the amount of coverage. Those are useful examples of the screen’s role: dressing a structure that is already there, with foliage that helps soften the view.

The material is resin and the roll weighs approximately 1.1kg. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, with fade-resistant foliage. Its leafy surface still allows some light and air through, so the effect will depend on the support behind it and the angle from which it is viewed.

Allow time to flatten the roll

Unroll the screen before fitting it and give the backing space to relax. Check the inner edge in particular, as a tightly packed roll may want to curl back on itself. Secure that edge carefully and work along the support, keeping the foliage facing outward and the mesh sitting neatly against the surface.

Secure the screen to an appropriate support and check the edges along the whole length. The gallery photograph comes from a five-star customer review of the 3m version and shows screening around a paved outdoor area, giving a more everyday view than the isolated product image.

Density and realism are different things

The dense leaf cover is useful for disguising a plain surface, but the finish remains decorative artificial foliage. Its effect will depend on the viewing distance, the light and the background behind it. A solid fence provides a different backdrop from open railings, where light can still show through the small spaces between leaves.

It is also a decorative screen rather than a pet-proof barrier. One customer found that a dog could chew through it, and another said it did not stop their dog barking even though they liked the effect on the fence. If your project involves keeping an animal secure, the underlying fence needs to do that job.

For a green backdrop without watering or pruning, the main attraction is the continuous format and fuller leaf arrangement. Measure your space, give the roll time to open out, and judge the finished effect from the distance at which you will normally enjoy it.
