Greenery need not cover an entire wall to make a difference. This Shsyue artificial ivy screen can add a leafy strip beside a door, soften a metal gate or dress part of a pergola. Its narrow 50cm width makes it easy to use as a decorative detail, with three metres of length to arrange around your space.

The dark green leaves are attached to a lightweight plastic mesh. One roll is supplied, weighing approximately 440g, and the high-density PE foliage has UV protection. It brings immediate colour without a growing season, watering routine or roots to accommodate beneath the display.

A flexible starting point for a small project

The screen can be trimmed to fit and fastened to a suitable support with appropriate ties or tape. Choose the fixing method for the surface and conditions: a garden gate needs something different from a temporary indoor backdrop. Keep the edges supported and position attachments behind the foliage where possible.

The roll can be used horizontally as a low strip, or arranged vertically for a taller, narrow patch of green. Before cutting, measure the full area and mark out the pieces you need. A little planning helps avoid using too much of the length on the first section and leaving a small gap at the end.

Ideas from customers’ gardens

One customer used the screen to cover a metal gate and was pleased with the result. Another fitted it to a fence and liked the appearance enough to consider buying it again. A pergola owner added their own flowers to the greenery, creating a more colourful overhead feature from the plain green base.

The gallery photograph shows sections fitted vertically on either side of a doorway, with separate heart decorations added to the display. It is a useful example of treating the screen as a decorative panel rather than keeping it in one long strip. Those ornaments are personal additions; the roll itself contains foliage only.

Allow for an open, leafy finish

Opinions on fullness vary. Some customers are happy with the coverage and report that the leaves have stayed attached. Others would have preferred a denser effect, and a four-star buyer found the plastic edging more visible than expected. The screen is best understood as a layer of foliage with gaps, not a solid sheet that blocks every view.

Several buyers also expected something wider, so check the 50cm measurement against your intended location. For a larger wall or greater coverage, you may need more than one roll. There is no pruning or feeding to do once it is fitted; occasional cleaning and a check of the leaves and fixings will keep it tidy. When the display is no longer needed, the flexible backing rolls up again for storage.
