Large colourful artificial hanging basket with purple and red flowers (30cm)

Description

If you like a hanging basket with lots of colour and a slightly more relaxed, cottage-garden feel, this multicoloured artificial flower basket is a lovely alternative to a traditional pre-arranged design.

The basket combines masses of violet-style artificial flowers in a mixture of colours with green foliage, all arranged in a natural-looking coconut fibre hanging basket. Once the stems are spread out, the finished display measures approximately 40cm across, creating a colourful feature for a porch, patio, balcony or garden wall.

One important thing to know is that this is a DIY-style hanging basket rather than a completely finished arrangement straight from the box. The flower stems need to be positioned in the basket yourself. Fortunately, customers describe the process as straightforward, with one saying it took only a few minutes to put together. The advantage is that you get much more control over the finished shape – spread the stems widely for an airy, natural look, bring them closer together for a denser centre, or arrange the colours exactly where you want them.

Reviewers regularly comment that the flowers look surprisingly realistic once everything has been arranged and fluffed out. Buyers also like being able to adjust the stems to make the basket appear fuller, and several have personalised theirs even further by adding extra flowers or trailing foliage. One customer even tucked solar lights amongst the flowers to create a pretty display after dark.

The coconut fibre basket helps give the arrangement a more traditional hanging-basket appearance than an all-plastic container, while the mix of flower colours creates plenty of interest from a distance. It works especially well for adding colour to areas where growing a real basket can be frustrating – such as shaded corners, high balconies or spots that are awkward to water.

A number of buyers specifically choose these because maintaining real hanging baskets can involve so much watering. One reviewer uses theirs on a first-floor coastal balcony and reports that, despite some very strong winds, the stems have remained securely held in place. Others use them at the front and back of the house to get the effect of flowering baskets without the daily upkeep.

Because you arrange the flowers yourself, the final fullness will partly depend on how you position the stems. Some customers prefer to add a few additional flowers for an even denser display, while others feel the supplied arrangement is perfectly sufficient once it has been properly spread out.

It’s a particularly fun choice if you enjoy tweaking your décor rather than simply hanging something exactly as it arrives. You can rearrange it from season to season, add complementary artificial stems, weave in lights or leave it exactly as supplied.

Bright, flexible and wonderfully low-maintenance, this artificial hanging basket gives you plenty of opportunity to make the finished display your own.
