White roses are easy to enjoy in almost any room, and this arrangement has an extra detail for the evening: a string of warm-white lights that can be woven through the flowers and glass vase. By day it is a pale floral accent; when the lights are switched on, it becomes a small pool of gentle decorative light beside a sofa, on a console or in a bedroom.

Flowers, vase and lights in one set

The set includes three artificial rose bunches, one glass vase, LED string lights and a remote control. The assembled display is approximately 33cm tall, with a vase around 16cm high. The white roses keep the colour scheme simple, allowing the layered petals and green leaves to provide most of the detail.

Because the lights are supplied separately, you can decide how prominent you would like them to be. Tucking part of the string into the vase and winding the rest loosely among the stems spreads the glow through the arrangement. Keep the wire discreetly behind the leaves where possible, leaving the flower heads free to hold their shape.

The lights have eight modes, so you can choose the effect that suits the room. They use three AA batteries, which are not included. It is worth fitting the batteries and checking the lights before settling the flowers into their final position; that makes it easier to arrange the wire neatly and keep the battery pack accessible.

Build a relaxed rose display

Gently open out the bunches after unpacking, separating the roses enough to show their individual shapes. Place the fuller blooms towards the outside and use the greenery to soften the gaps. A rounded outline works particularly well with this vase, although the flexible stems also give you room to make one side a little looser.

For a bedside table, keep the arrangement towards the back so there is still space for a book and a glass of water. On a hallway console, it can sit beside a bowl for keys or a framed photograph. Its white flowers also make it easy to move between rooms when you change the surrounding accessories.

A decorative glow for quieter evenings

Customer photographs show how the lights change the character of the flowers after dark, bringing out the edges of the pale petals. People appreciate the convenience of the remote, although some have found its operation less reliable, so checking the controls before arranging everything is a sensible first step.

The light is decorative rather than a substitute for a reading lamp. Use it to add atmosphere to an indoor corner, with the roses still providing colour and texture when switched off. No water is needed in the vase. Dust the petals and leaves gently, and keep the electrical parts dry when cleaning the glass or moving the arrangement.
