Greenery with a light scattering of flowers

A bouquet need not be packed with large blooms to make an impression. This Arborus design gives most of the space to varied green leaves, with white daisies adding little points of brightness between them. It is a relaxed, airy combination that works well when you want something fresher and less formal than a dense floral dome.

Rounded eucalyptus-style leaves sit beside fern fronds and broad, patterned caladium leaves. The contrast in their shapes is the main attraction: fine fern edges soften the outline, while the larger leaves give the arrangement structure. White petals and yellow daisy centres keep the greenery from becoming visually heavy.

A taller outline for a vase

The bouquet is approximately 59cm tall overall, making it more suitable for a medium or taller vase than a tiny bedside pot. Remember that part of that length will sit inside the container. Before choosing its final position, check the height above the vase rim as well as the space available for the broader leaves.

Try a dark textured vase to bring out the pale patterning on the caladium foliage, or a simple white vessel for a brighter look. A narrow-to-medium opening helps support the gathered stems, while a very wide bowl will need more arranging. The decorative vases shown in styled displays are not included.

Arrange the layers rather than flattening them

The stems are presented with natural raffia around them, and the foliage needs a little shaping after unpacking. Open the finer branches first, then position the larger leaves so they do not cover every daisy. Turning the bouquet a quarter turn at a time makes it easier to see where one side needs a little more space.

Let some leaves sit forward and others recede towards the centre. That difference in depth gives the mixed greenery more movement than arranging everything into one flat face. If the bouquet will stand against a wall, concentrate the fullest outline at the front and leave a little clearance behind the broad leaves.

A calm addition to everyday rooms

This mix suits an entrance table, a living-room sideboard or an office where a strongly coloured arrangement would feel out of place. The white flowers pick up pale walls and fabrics, while the green tones sit comfortably beside wood and woven textures. It can stand alone without another collection of flowers around it.

The artificial leaves and flowers use fabric and plastic, so there is no need to find a bright growing position or maintain a watering routine. Lift dust from the leaf surfaces with a soft brush, supporting the broader pieces as you clean. Keep the bouquet indoors and store it with room around the larger leaves whenever you change the display. Other foliage combinations are available; this version includes the white daisies.
