These Christow artificial topiary balls have a compact 28cm diameter and a cheerful mix of green tones, giving you that freshly clipped look without adding another watering job to the week. A little variation makes a difference

Each ball has 326 polyethylene leaves in lighter and darker shades of green. That variation helps break up the surface, so the foliage has more depth than a sphere made from one flat colour. The small leaves create a close, tidy outline that suits a traditional porch just as comfortably as a modern balcony.

These are decorative boxwood spheres without flowers or lights. Their appeal is the simple green shape: easy to combine with seasonal bedding, colourful door paint or a patterned outdoor cushion without making the space feel busy.

Hang them or settle them into pots

A powder-coated steel triple chain and hook are supplied with each ball. The overall hanging drop is approximately 40cm, while the foliage itself measures 28cm across. Keeping those two measurements in mind makes it easier to judge how they will sit beneath a bracket or pergola beam. Leave enough room for the leaves to move without rubbing against the wall.

The chains are removable, so you can also display the balls in your own containers. A pair of narrow urns creates a more formal entrance; simple terracotta pots give them a softer, everyday feel. Position the spheres securely and weight the containers appropriately if they will stand outside. Pots and wall brackets are separate additions.

A small amount of assembly

Each sphere arrives in two sections that fasten together with poppers. Work around the join gradually, lining up the edges before pressing the connections home. Customers have found this stage a little fiddly, although one noted that the second ball was much quicker once they had worked out the first. It is a job best done on a table before hanging.

The plastic foliage has UV protection and is intended for indoor or outdoor display.
