Topiary plants - buying guide

Topiary plants can add architectural interest to your garden and curb appeal to your home's entrance. Artificial topiary plants are the easiest choice - they require practically no maintenance and look fresh and bright all year round, whatever the weather.

Pots

Be aware that most topiary plants are pictured in fancy pots - but typically these are for illustrative purposes only. Most will come with a simple plastic pot and you will need to choose your own decorative container. The advantage of this is that you can choose a pot that meets the style of your garden!

Assembly

Most topiary plants are ready assembled and you won't need to do much more than clip the plant into the base. Some plants come in two pieces requiring very simply assembly. It is usually advisable to weigh the base down with stones or sand to prevent it from blowing over in stormy weather.

Durability

Topiary plants need to stand up to the elements and one of the most important features to look for is UV resistance. Artificial topiary plants can fade in sunlight over time and look less authentic.
